Create PDFs from files, images and scans
MobiPDF for Windows is a PDF maker that lets you create a PDF from a Word, Excel or PowerPoint file, from images, a scanner, a screenshot or a blank page. Choose Create on the start screen, pick the source – your new PDF opens ready to work on.

Turn any file into a PDF
To turn a file into a PDF, choose Create on the start screen, then From File. With a document already open, choose Create PDF on the Home or Convert tab, then From File. Besides Microsoft Word to PDF, the full list of supported formats runs to over 30, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint files, JPG and PNG images, and EPUB e-books. Drawings work too, since MobiPDF turns AutoCAD drawings to PDF from the same option. The new PDF opens in a new window.

Put several images into one PDF
From Images converts images to PDF, with each image as a page. Add one or more images, arrange them in the order you want, and create the PDF. Since the file is made from pictures, it has no text layer. MobiPDF shows a “This looks like a scanned PDF” bar with Perform OCR and Convert to Word. OCR can make the scanned PDF searchable.

Scan paper straight to PDF
From Scanner creates a PDF from a paper document using a scanner connected to your computer. Choose Create, then From Scanner, and set the OCR language in the Create From Scanner window. This lets the scan come out as a searchable PDF. If MobiPDF cannot find a scanner, it asks you to add one.

Start from a screenshot or a blank page
From Clipboard Image is active only when you have copied an image on your clipboard. It creates a PDF from an image on your clipboard, such as a screenshot or copied picture, without saving the image as a file first. For a blank PDF, Blank Document opens Page Size, where you can select a paper size or enter exact dimensions, then choose Portrait or Landscape. To put different files into one PDF, use Combine Files.

Why create PDFs with MobiPDF?

MobiPDF works as a PDF creator and editor in one, so you can make a PDF and keep working on it in the same app. You can edit and comment on the new file, combine it with other files, compress it, protect it and share it. Your PDF opens as a regular document, so you can continue with the next task in the same app. It can also go out again in one of the formats MobiPDF converts to, such as Word or Excel.
